Practical Centre is a leader, trend setter and innovator in the field of education. We have carved our own niche through hard work, dedication and commitment towards providing quality education to our students. Our innovations in the field of coaching have provided us an edge over all other institutes in Karachi. I joined Practical Centre in the year 2004 as Manager Information Technology. After establishing Virtual Private Network connecting our campuses, I formed our first MIS section in a separate facility which now has a 20 strong team of IT professionals. This department manages student’s results, a complete record of a student’s conduct during his/ her stay at Practical Centre, subject Notes, communication with teachers and parents, remote security surveillance of the campuses through online close circuit cameras and monitor teacher’s performance through sophisticated recording software. All this is done under a very competent IT Manager and Administrator. We have a system of evaluating our teachers and students through a computerized system of high powered audio/ video cameras which record the activities in a class room and enables the administration to keep checks on its staff and students. I successfully initiated and completed the development of a customized software application, engaging a team of competent software specialists, exclusively for maintenance of student’s data, text messaging of results and announcements of results to parents through sheer automation and innovation. We have been utilizing audio visual aides (both overhead and multimedia projectors) for the delivery of lectures. There are numerous other projects in the pipeline which we plan to implement in the near future for the betterment of our students and for timely and effective administration-parents communication. We are proud to announce that all our campuses are linked with the MIS block via wireless VPN.
I’m fortunate enough to have the guidance of our chairman Prof. Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi and support of my MIS administrator Mr Naeem, our I.T Manager Mr Muzaffar, Officers Mr Sagheer, Mr Tariq, Mr Yusuf & Mr Shakil and our administrators Dr Fazal Ahmed and Prof. Amanat Siddiqui and our entire teaching and non-teaching staff. Practical Centre is progressing at a steady pace and inshAllah will continue serving the citizens of Karachi in the years to come.
